Based on recent propaganda videos released by ISIS utilizing British photographer John Cantlie as a “reporter”, and an article they also published by Mr. Cantlie, he is likely to be executed at any time now. He was captured in Syria in November 2012 , 3 months after he was rescued from an initial kidnapping in that same country that lasted only 1 week.
Although in the propaganda pieces he is mainly forced to lie about his captivity, why he is there and why he has not been released, he was able to in an ISIS magazine article ask his fiancee to move on and forget him, and thank his family for their efforts but to to let him go and move forward with their lives. It’s a truly courageous statement by a man who knows his life will soon be taken by his captors. Mr. Cantlie was kidnapped along with American journalist James Foley, who was killed by ISIS on August 12, 2014.- Preston Brady III, Mobile Tribune (gulfshores(at)gmail.com.
