0199-RIP Cher Twitter Hoax pulled in Kim Kardashian and her 13 Million Followers

It's no wonder Twitter has agreed to censor tweets in some countries, particularly France and Germany which have speech laws that prohibit Pro-Nazi statements. Last night a single tweet in the U.S. set off a plethora of RIP Cher tweets as the 65 year old singer was reportedly found dead in her California home. These kind of tweets will eventually result in more cancellation of Twitter accounts and new methods from allowing such tweets to publish, such as phrase recognition technologies that will require validation of a tweet before it can post. Other celebrities have also been reported dead on Twitter in the past, such as Britney Spears and Etta James. The Etta James tweets may not have been mischief as the singer was ill and in the hospital and sadly did passed away last week. (Photo, CherWorld.com)
