0701-Volunteers asked to help search for Mobile,Alabama teenager Brittany Nicole Wood Wednesday through Saturday

The national non-profit group KlaasKIDS Foundation is assisting local organizations in the Mobile,Alabama area to locate missing 19 year old Mobile teenager Brittany Nicole Wood, who vanished on May, 30, 2012. Brittany's uncle, whom she was said to be visiting on the day she went missing, is reported to have committed suicide that same day. Her cell phone signal was detected in the Robertsdale,Alabama area and a coordinated search for her will commence beginning tomorrow, Wednesday 6-13-12 through Saturday. Police in the area have conducted numerous seaches but have yet to find her.  Organizers are seeking volunteers. Here is a portion of their press release:

Tillman’s Corner, Al. 19 year-old Brittany Wood was last seen leaving her home in Tillman’s Corner on May 30, 2012. Her last cell phone ping was located off Water World Dr in Robertsdale, Al. “It's like she literally vanished,” said Chessie Wood, Brittany's mother.

Despite extensive, well coordinated investigations by Mobile Police Department and the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Brittany remains missing. Brittany’s parents reached out to the KlaasKIDS Foundation to organize a community volunteer search.

Brad Dennis, National Search Director for the KlaasKIDS Foundation said they will be conducting a community search for Brittany. “Community members are encouraged to volunteer in our mission to bring Brittany home, Dennis said.” Individuals who would like to participate in the search for Brittany should check in at the Rosinton Fire Department located at 20300 County Road 64 in Loxley, Al. between the hours of 9 am and 4:30 pm on Wednesday, June 13th. The search is scheduled to continue through Saturday.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and bring their drivers license. “Dress appropriately for the weather, wear long pants and sturdy, covered toe shoes. We need people who can do foot searches as well as individuals who are willing to work in the search center” explained Dennis.
