1047-New York City subways closing tonight, New Jersey transit stopping as well

New York City mayor Bloomberg has seen the light since his press conference yesterday and is telling folks, "The storm is coming." He ordered the subway system shut down tonight at 9:00 PM eastern time. New Jersey is doing the same in major cities. Sometimes weather forecasters over-hype the potential danger of a coming storm, preferring to err on the side of just in case - but in the case of Sandy it is becoming increasingly clear the warnings are not hype but the actual truth. There's not much else to be said.
