Residents of Homs, Syria are so besieged by two straight weeks of government bombing they don't know what day it is. The government considers the protesters against it criminals, and will not allow doctors from outside to bring in medicine to help women and children. Several doctors have been killed attempting to bring in medicine and New York Times reporter Anthony Shadid died last week after a severe asthma reaction to horses being used to leave the country. The regime of Syria who refuse to step down amid the ongoing rebellion against it, are accused of assassination of community leaders in the country who are vocally against it. China and Russia refused to sign a condemnation against the government of Syria brought before the United Nations earlier this month. China is making claims that peace is still possible in Syria and are in private talks with some Syria government officials. However, it appears that by the time a peaceful solution might be found, many thousands of Syrians will be dead or injured, defeating the purpose of a peaceful end to the violence.
