About MobileTribune.com

About Preston Brady III: I was born in Mobile, Alabama. Following high school I moved to San Francisco where I attended City College of San Francisco and San Francisco State, majoring in philosophy for 5 years.  I held a variety of working stints including as a waiter at Chez Jacques and at the Bohemian Club (no, I did not see Henry Kissinger), a parking attendant (paid the best!) and my last job in the City where for 5 years I worked for the U.S. Department of Labor. For 5 years I wrote for the quadlingual community newspaper The Tenderloin Times, the only newspaper printed in 4 languages (English, Cambodia, Lao and Vietnamese.)

In Mobile, I contributed to Langniappe newspaper, covering the Government Plaza beat. I enjoy world travel, to such places as Tokyo, Bangkok, Paris, London, Puerto Vallarta, San Miguel Allende, Oaxaca. My first international trip was a December journey to the Soviet Union in 1985, where afterward we stayed a few days in Helsinki and devoured pizzas after our Russia stay.  I love to walk, the beach, to cook, growing herbs and the company of cats, a dog and three sulcata tortoises. And, of course, the subject of politics.  I have written a number of books, including fiction novels The Color White, Pancake Butt, and Seven Days in Paris. I am editor and publisher of MobileTribune.com
